Suden Aika is a vocal ensemble whose unique sound is created by a combination of four strong and different female voices. Suden Aika is the bearer of tradition: music combines new and old, timeless, traditional lyrics and new music. Music based on the Nordic and Finnish folk music tradition is composed by the band into Kalevala-length folk poems. The Kalevala poetic language is rich, multicolored and beautiful and every listener can understand it in their own way. Suden Aika does a significant job in nurturing this rich Finnish heritage.
The music of the Suden Aika is primarily based on vocals, but there are also many different instruments in use: kanteles, moraharp, flutes, and various percussion instruments.
