Two women, two chairs, two accordions, and Finnish soul music from Satumaa to Säkkijärvi.
Five years ago, two top musicians, accordion artists Maria Kalaniemi and Elina Leskelä, expanded their career paths and responded to the need to perform music in care homes for people with memory disorders. Since then, they have been diligently touring care home wards, senior residences, and memory conferences. With their playing, Maria and Elina build bridges to memories and bring the joy of music to those who cannot attend concert halls. For five years, the audience’s reception has always been equally joyful!
In 2024, their work was recognized with the Phenomenon of the Year award at Folklandia’s Folk gala.
The concert features Finnish soul music, represented by the dance music gems from Metsäkukat to the polka of Satumaa and Säkkijärvi.
