Folk music from Espoo and evergreen atmospheres in the embrace of the archipelago.

Maria Kalaniemi, an accordionist from Espoo, is an internationally well known musician and, in addition, a talented, distinctive composer. She is an artist who has developed her own expression from many musical styles. The lyrically sensitive and intense playing style created by Kalaniemi has gained a loyal audience in different parts of the world. The archipelago is close to her heart. In 2024, she celebrates her 60th anniversary.

Harmonica player and doctor Jouko Kyhälä belongs to the elite of Finnish professional folk musicians. He has been piloting the world-famous Sväng harmonica quartet for 20 years, but has also made an extensive career as a solo performer, in theater, in film music and as a composer in contemporary dance. Kyhälä has played in more than 20 bands and performed on dozens of recordings in all genres. However, Kyhälä’s musical roots are in folk music. Connection with nature and love of life are his motto.
